I live in the state of Washington. At the present time (February 2012) it is perilously close to becoming another state that approves of homosexual marriage. But even if it becomes legal in this state, it will still be immoral. This is so, for it contradicts the teaching of the Bible, which is the infallible Word of God. Just because something is legal doesn't make it moral.
Those of us who believe the Bible to be what it is, that is, the Word of God, are under pressure to accept the non-Christian/non-Biblical view of homosexuality. But we must not give in to the pressure. We must stand resolute in our commitment to Biblical teaching on this subject. And God will help us to be resolute, if we turn to him for strength to do so.
One of the arguments used to support approval of homosexual marriages here in WA is that it will draw homosexuals to our state, and such persons will spend money here. In other words, it will be good for our economy! Well, why stop with this? Why not legalize other things that will be good for the economy? (I will let readers think of other things that are now illegal that could be made legal so that we could make money from their legality.) This is a clear-cut example of "the result justifies the means" mentality.

RESOLUTION ON HUMAN SEXUALITY
Springfield, IL - 2010
WHEREAS, there is in our nation, even within the "Christian community," a growing movement of sexual immorality advocating premarital sex, extra-marital sex, and homosexuality as lifestyles to be accepted as normative in our culture and society; and,
WHEREAS, there are those in positions of religious authority willing to yield to the demands that these immoral activities be labeled as acceptable and respectable; and
WHEREAS, the Scriptures are clear that pre-marital and extramarital sex are immoral and sinful (1 Corinthians 6:15 - 20; Genesis 2:24); and,
WHEREAS, the Bible is clear that homosexuality is not a legitimate alternative lifestyle, but is gross sin indicative of the depths of man's rebellion against God (Romans 1:26 - 27; 1 Corinthians 6:9 - 10),
BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED that the members and delegates present at the Eighty-first Annual Convention of IFCA International, meeting in Springfield, Illinois, June 28 - July 2, 2010, go on record as affirming chastity outside of marriage and fidelity within marriage as the only Biblical standard of human sexuality; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that we go on record as being opposed to any movement that would recognize homosexuality as anything but gross sin; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that while we view pre-marital sex, extra-marital sex, and homosexuality as sin, we do view those engaged in such practices as objects of the grace of God to be reached and won to the Lord Jesus Christ, the great Savior of sinners.
